What a great show this one was!

We had our friends Smooth Operator, Lindsay and, Charles weigh in on this heated topic. I don’t think we came up with any solutions, but that isn’t our intent here.

The Debate over immigration has been with us a long time. It’s been pushed to the for front since the Work Trade Tower was attacked and also revived recently with the Election just around the corner.

All Views were appreciated. Tara’s mic seemed to be much better with some new mic-ing.

Hi Everyone!

(Please forgive the quality of this pod) This weeks show was plaqued with mic problems. I have done all that I can to clean it up as much as I can for ya.

The Subject for our Nov 18th show was “Euthanasia & Physician Assisted Suicide. We looked at some of the cases in history including the Karen Ann Quinlynn case, Teri Shivo and, Carolynn Carr. Each with very different circumstances yet all important to the discussion of this debate.

I probably did more research on this show than any other we have done. Being the Caregiver of someone who is at risk of being in a situation that make require some hard choices, this one hit home.

Sex & Violence in Media - Nov 11th

Hi Everyone!

You know… Ya never can gage how a show is going to do. Well, at least I can’t. This sundays show was by far one of our most successful. That being said, I can’t say it was what I expected. I like a nice clean ending with an easy “last thought”. This one left us all just kind of shrugging.

We started out with a good number of problems with the stickam room. That was a blessing in disguise. It point out to us the need for you listeners to find us better when we can’t be live on stickam. We are currently working on that. We webcast through “listen2myradio.com” & also through our own ZenNet Server. This makes us available on itunes, mediaplayer, and winamp. ( just search for Zen Live Radio ). That stream is Audio only. So we are contiplating using Operator11 or BlogTV as a alternate when stickam isn’t working. Stay tuned for developments there.

The Show went well with Lindsay & SadieDammit both calling in and giving a different view on how sex and violence effect us. However, at the end of the day we pretty much desided that the explicit sex and violence are the Thorns to the rose. The Rose being a better and more open attitude about sex. The Education about aids and STDs. As for violence. Well many are entertained by foe Violence. The only real problem is that the real violence and the foe-violence are often hard to distinguish. This leads to an unrealistic view of violence in general and a desensitization toward things we should find appalling.

Don’t forget - as of next Sunday ( Nov 18th ) we will be webcasting 30 minutes later ( 9 pm est ). So… Set your alarms and jot it down on your calendars!

Smokers Rights Vs Public Health/the Law - Nov 4th

Hi Everyone,

Sorry about canceling the show. I had my personal chat room open in the morning and felt okay. But by 5 pm I had a headache and a number of other problems. I weighed the pros and cons and decided I just wouldn’t make it through a show. So.. we canceled.

The Good News for those who were waiting to listen in is… We rescheduled it for Dec 2nd 07. So you won’t miss a thing! After all, they do say the show must go on right?

Note also that we have a new start time. We will be starting 30 minutes later ( 9 pm est ) as of Nov 18th 2007. Stickam requested we do this so they can Feature our entire show. I was only too happy to do so.

Hi everyone,

The Zen Live Show this last Sunday ( Oct. 14th 2007 ) was one of our most active shows. The Drama surrounding if video of a little dog being used in a comedy sketch, against the owners wishes, was ethical or lawful had the audience taking sides quickly.

ZenArcher - Host and founder of Zen Live Radio had also posted a trailer for the show that contained the entire video clip that contained the dog. This of coarse raised the question of the ethics and legality of doing so.

While I (zen) did my best to be neutral on the issue and had hoped the show wouldn’t become about the dog. But more the issue of whats legal as opposed to whats ethical, I can’t say that was accomplished. Still the debate was an interesting one. ALL Parties to his incident called in and weighed in with their own versions of what happened.

In order to fully understand the podcast/archive one must see the video in question as well as others that were referred to. This being the case I will provide links to the videos here. You may want to view these before listening to the show just for a clearer understanding.

I also promised that I would post links to the LAW on this subject. As soon as I have run down authoritative links that will be done. ( check back )

Let me just say I appreciate everyone who came to the show, participated in the show, and those who listened from outside the chat. You all made this one of our most watched and most interesting shows.

Thanks to a video by ImaMuffin(pkna) of youtube, the subject of Porn and Infidelity came up in discussion. Since we felt that it was a subject worth exploring a little further and since I have at least some experience in the field of Adult Entertainment online, we asked the questions. Is looking at porn online or having cybersex Infidelity. The subject really has many more aspects than we could cover in the show, however, I believe we certainly opened a few eyes.
